Zumbro House is a therapeutic community of residential programs, designed to serve individuals with mental disabilities and/or mental illness, and to help them live successfully and safely in the community. Our spectrum of residential services range from our most supported and supervised level of care, Corporate Foster Care, to a variety of apartment programs offering a range of supervision/support options, from 24/7 to partial day. Locations for the programs are located mostly in the Bloomington, Minneapolis, and Richfield metro area.
The Role :
The Lead DSP is responsible for the general oversight and supervision of the operations in their assigned location. The Lead DSP is an extension of the Program Director and should provide greater on-site supervision of the program and its staff. The Lead DSP will work with the Program Director to ensure that internal policies and external regulations are adhered to.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise and delegate duties to all staff at the assigned location.
Ensure appropriate staffing coverage.
Mediate intra staff conflicts.
Communicate performance related concerns to the Program Director.
Ensure treatment plans are being followed, medications are being administered, and that checklists are being completed accurately.
Support of People Receiving Services:
Treat people receiving services with dignity and respect.
Ensure safekeeping of individual's funds and paperwork.
Lead community meetings when present.
Respond to crisis situations per the instructions of the Program Director.
Ensure the health and safety of the individuals and the residence.
Must be able to balance all financial ledgers and financial documentation requirements.
Degree in Human Services related field is preferred, however; significant experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and/or behavior problems may suffice in lieu of a degree.
Must be able to pass a DHS Background Study/Fingerprinting.
Must have a valid driver's license, a good driving record and a safe operating vehicle, and must be willing to transport people receiving services in personal vehicle if company vehicle is not available. A poor driving record resulting in denial of insurance coverage will disqualify an individual from employment with Zumbro House, Inc.
Must have the ability to complete the required documentation, communicate professionally, clearly, and effectively.
