Thomas Allen is Hiring for a Community Living Adviser!Paid training is provided!LOCATION: North St. Paul, Roseville & surrounding areasHOURS AVAILABLE: Full-time, flexible days 10am - 6pmJOB SUMMARY: As a Community Living Adviser, you will have the primary responsibility of helping the individuals supported transition into long-term independent community living, and providing ongoing support services.DUTIES INCLUDE:* Commit to and implementing person-centered supports* Coordinate communication and services with families, day programs, and other involved professionals* Guide individuals in interacting positively with friends, peers, family, the community, staff, professionals, and other persons with whom they may have contact* As requested, ensure that routine and special medical appointments are scheduled and attended, and log medical and daily occurrences* Assist individuals in develop and using effective and varied leisure time management skills* Orient individuals to available community services (shopping, restaurants, other recreation, public transportation) and promote independent use of these services to the greatest extent possible* Other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS:* Must have 1 year of related experience working with individuals with disabilities* Willing to commit to and implement person-centered supports* Department of Human Services background clearance* Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, acceptable driving record, and proof of auto insurance required* Must be 18 years or older* Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verballyTo view other open positions, click here.AA/EOEThomas Allen, Inc. is a social services agency that provides person-centered services to individuals with disabilities.
